Why does Zoiper keep closing down unexpectedly? Input & output are also both erratic.

Hi,

I'm new to Zoiper, I use it on my work Mac (which I'm also fairly new too and still finding my way around).  Zoiper keeps closing down on me unexpectedly and I'm having problems with both the input and output in that either or both of the microphone and speaker won't work when I open it up again.
