Zoiper unregisters on Macbook Pro and iMac running El Capitan

Zoiper periodically stops answering/placing calls on a Macbook Pro and 2016 iMac, both running El Capitan.  I need to go to settings and click the Register button to get it back and running.  I suspect it has to do with going in and out of sleep mode but I don't see any settings within Zoiper to affect this.
