Windows Phone not receiving inbound calls

I am trying to get theZoiper app working on a Windows 8.1 Nokia phone, and also on a Windows 10 phone, and both have the same issue on a number of different providers - they won't accept incoming calls. Outbound calls are fine, and the app in in the foreground but the calls won't ring on the phone, although the app will show the missed call.

Almost one year later and no comments. Have you been able to resolve incoming calls problem?

I wish Microsoft allows linphone back into the store.....

In order to preserve battery power, Windows does not allow applications to run in the background. The only way to make incoming calls work while Zoiper is running in the background is to configure both the server and the client to use PUSH notifications. However currently there aren't almost any VoIP providers that provide proper PUSH support.
