I have been happily using Zoiper free on various platforms for a number of years. (thankyou developers).

However, after upgrading my Windows10 desktop from Zoiper version 2.39 to 5.5.2.12, I have often been getting what I call broken/staticky sound for receive audio, on either headset or speakers. Stopping this version and reopening 2.39 fixes the problem totally, so that eliminates a lot of packet loss-type causes. Statistics show Quality = 5 , jitter = 10ms, packet loss = 0%

Running the audio setup checks on 5.5 does not show the problem.

Broadband connection is satellite, using MyNetFone for SIP acct.

I would really like to complete the upgrade, but am currently stuck with using 2.39

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hello,

You can try going to Zoiper -> Settings -> Audio -> disable the "HID" (Jabra, Plantronics and Generic) options, and also try altering the "echo cancellation", "Automatic gain control" and "Noise suppression".

Eventually something may help.
