My phone says it's not ready and the account has a red x.

Question

I have the free soft phone VoIP for my iPhone7. It took me repeated tries to register. Finally it was approved, but the phone says it's not ready and there's a red X by the Account Name. Is there a fix other than needing to register again? It got very frustrating with all the fails.
