Can't find the options keyboard once number is dailed

When I make a call and I'm given options to which department I want to be redirected to, I can't find a keyboard on the screen. How can I bring up a keyboard.

Do I need to upgrade for the keyboard option or something?

While the call is connected, just click the button in the center of the top icon row, sandwiched in between Mute (microphone with slash through it) and Hold (Pause symbol).  It's meant to look like a miniature dialpad.  The pad itself should then appear in the bottom part of your screen.
