Cannot End Call

Question

I am able to dial but there is no sound 

screen says the call has connected and is giving the timer count but there is no sound and I cannot end the call either from the main window or the side bar 

Rebooting the laptop ends the call but the issue persists when making the next call.

Please help URGENTLY
